Curriculum

    Every PYRI class consists of the following components:
  • Warm-up, Flexibility and Suppleness
  • High-Impact Strength/Cardio & Plyometric Interval Training
  • Low-Impact Core/Abdominal/Hip/Gluts Interval Training
  • Sword Drills
  • Sword Paired/Interactive Sets
  • Sword Dance Sets
  • Cool-down and Meditative Breathing ("The Secret")

    Levels of Progression and Advancement:
  • Level I - Earth (Red): Requirement is to be proficient in the first 4 sword dances with a single wooden sword in hand.
  • Level II - Water (Orange): Requirement is to be proficient in the first 4 sword dances with double wooden swords in hand.
  • Level III - Fire (Yellow): Requirement is to be proficient in the first 4 sword dances with a single wooden sword and shield in hand.
  • Level IV - Wind (Green): Requirement is to be proficient in paired-off sword sets between two opponents and understand actual application.
  • Level V - Sky (Blue): Requirement is to be proficient in multiple opponent sword interaction and understand actual application.
